The Never Trump movement in the GOP won’t give up. They couldn’t field a candidate strong enough to defeat Donald Trump in the primaries. They want to change the rules and offer up a new candidate. It’s the Republican National Convention and the Never Trumpers are saying they’ve got a candidate.
Former Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) said he would accept the nomination if the GOP gave it to him.
Nobody could beat Trump in the primaries. He stood up against sixteen of the Republican Party’s best and sent them all packing, one by one. They couldn’t beat him fairly, so now the Never Trump movement is resorting to underhanded tactics to remove him from the ticket.
So much for party unity. These guys don’t play well with others.
The Political Insider reports:
Just when you thought the RNC Convention might go smoothly and we would never heard from the “Never Trump” movement again… There is chaos now in Cleveland, Ohio!
The Political Insider is hearing from convention insiders that the #NeverTrump movement has the votes to force a rule vote.
This means the rules can be changed to open up nominations for other candidates, in addition to conservative businessman Donald J. Trump.
