Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby lost her third case in a row in the Freddie Gray trial this Monday. Police officer Brian Rice was acquitted of all charges related to the 2015 death of Freddie Gray while in police custody.
It has been reported that John Banzhaf, a law professor and activist at George Washington University, announced his plan to file a formal complaint calling for the disbarment of Mosby’s lead prosecutors. He intends to hold them responsible for their actions.
Benzhaf said that the lead prosecutors are just as guilty of ethical violations as Mosby herself.
Benzhaf filed a complaint against State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby last month for engaging in prosecutorial misconduct when she used “flimsy evidence” in the charging of six police officers in the death of Freddie Gray.
Conservative Tribune suggests that the only reason Mosby filed charges in the first place was to appease the rioters in Baltimore.
Conservative Tribune reports:
Shortly after Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby lost her third consecutive case in the Freddie Gray trial this Monday when a judge acquitted local police officer Brian Rice of all charges pertaining to Gray’s death in 2015, she received some devastating news.
The Washington Times reported that John Banzhaf, an activist law professor at George Washington University, announced plans to file a formal complaint with the Maryland Attorney Grievance Commission calling for the disbarment of Mosby’s lead prosecutors.
“Though they may have been ordered by Mosby to do what they did, that is no defense,” he said. “Every prosecutor has an individual obligation. They aren’t some minions way down below on the chain that really have no choice. These are the two major people in charge of making the decisions. I think they are as guilty of ethical violations as she.”
